Privacy & Facial Data Policy
This policy explains what Face Atlas processes when you use the free browser analysis, optional cloud AI features, checkout and report delivery.
Short version: the free geometry scan runs in your browser. A photo is sent to the configured AI provider only when you request a cloud AI feature and explicitly consent. Face Atlas does not sell facial data or use it for advertising.
Free browser analysis
Your selected photo, facial landmarks, geometry measurements and free report are processed in your browser. Face Atlas does not upload them to its server for the free scan. The browser downloads the public face-landmark model needed to run the analysis.
The current application may temporarily place the report and a compressed copy of the photo in browser session storage while you move through checkout. Session storage is kept on your device and is normally cleared when the browser tab or session ends.
Optional cloud AI features
Color analysis, hairstyle previews and accessory previews are optional. Before the first cloud AI request in a browser session, Face Atlas displays a separate facial-data notice and asks for explicit consent. If you continue, a compressed copy of the photo is sent through the Face Atlas server to the configured AI API solely to generate the feature you requested.
The application processes the request in memory and does not save the submitted photo or generated AI result on its server. The AI provider may process data transiently under its API terms and data-processing agreement. Production deployment must identify the configured provider here before accepting real users.

- Payments
- Stripe processes checkout and payment details. Face Atlas receives order identifiers and payment status, not your full card number.
- Email and sign-in
- If you request email delivery, the authentication provider processes your email address and the mail provider receives the PDF and verified recipient address.
- Technical security data
- The server uses network information such as an IP address temporarily for rate limiting and security. It is not used to build an advertising profile.
- Cookies
- Strictly necessary, first-party cookies keep an email session and record a short-lived cloud facial-data consent. No advertising cookie is required for the analysis.
Retention and deletion
Free photos and measurements are not stored by the Face Atlas server. Cloud AI request data is held in server memory only for the duration of the request. The short-lived consent session expires after two hours. Generated downloads remain wherever you choose to save or send them.
To request deletion of account or delivery data, contact the privacy contact. We will verify the request and delete data we control, and notify relevant processors where applicable. Payment records may be retained when required for tax, fraud-prevention or legal obligations.
Your choices
You may use the free local scan without enabling cloud AI. You may close the facial-data notice instead of consenting. You may also download a PDF without photos and choose whether a report emailed to you includes measurement photos.
Limits of the analysis
Face Atlas provides informational appearance and styling analysis. It does not perform identity verification, medical diagnosis or treatment. Results can change with lighting, pose, expression, image processing and camera distance.
